Venus Gravagna
What are your current areas of interest related to your practice?
I am always studying the meditative arts, whether it be through chakra meditation, alignment-based yoga or moving the energy during qigong practices. It's an old school study that deserves more time through-out our modern day working world, simply because it's healthy and fun!
What have you learned or how have you grown since becoming a YCC instructor?
I have learned that YCC attracts wonderful yoginis and yogins, each contributing beautifully to this world in their own ways. I have studied with many radically wonderful teachers in the past, but now it's time for me to learn from my peers, my experiences, and the world itself; I love the open heart that everyone brings to YCC. It's a very comfortable environment where we are able to shine our best selves.
What to expect in class: Venus encourages a practice to bring forth joy, clarity, and energy into students’ everyday lives. Drawing from various Asian philosophical traditions—including mindfulness, naturalism, and balance—Venus presents a belief in interconnectedness, and the potential for enlightenment in each of us.
Venus has been practicing Chakra Meditation since the early 1990s and holds a Master of Arts degree in Buddhist Studies.
