What are your current areas of interest related to your practice?
I am perpetually on a quest for knowledge, constantly engaging in trainings, certifications, and workshops. This year, I have become a Certified Grief Educator and Grief Movement Guide. Recently, I’ve also been exploring online trainings in somatic healing and polyvagal theory to further support the needs of my students.
What are your most memorable trips and experiences related to your practice?
I’ve dedicated much of my adult life to teaching world languages, a passion that allows me to share language and culture with teenagers as a high school teacher, including on travel to countries like Spain, England, Mexico, Costa Rica, Peru, Chile, and Argentina. While working as a high school teacher, I integrated yoga and mindfulness into my curriculum and had the privilege of introducing generations of students to these transformative practices to help navigate life's challenges and find calm through regulating their nervous system. I also have training in massage, energy healing techniques like Reiki and Healing Touch, reflexology, and grief training, which I integrate into my yoga classes to help students connect with their mind, body, breath, and spirit.
What to expect in class: Julia provides a playful, compassionate, and integrated practice that encourages curiosity and exploration to connect mind, breath, body and spirit through somatic techniques, postures, meditation, and pranayama.
