Vacation Details

Hands of Marrakech retreat focuses on deep creative immersion blended with wellness and self-care, set within the enchanting walls of one of the world's most captivating cities. From master artisan workshops tucked within the ancient souks to palace dining rooms that whisper of centuries past, prepare to create, explore, and transform.

The Artisan Journey

At the heart of this retreat are five hands-on experiences with master craftspeople, each class held in authentic workshops where these traditions have been passed down through generations. You'll learn the ancient art of Moroccan rug weaving and create your own zellige mosaic using the intricate geometric patterns Morocco is famous for. Try your hand at zwaq, the vibrant traditional painting that adorns the country's most beautiful spaces, and carve delicate designs into gypsum plaster, an art form seen throughout Morocco's palaces and riads. Your culinary adventure takes you outside the city to a cooking school where women train to become professional chefs. Here you'll learn the secrets of tagine, traditional bread, and the art of Moroccan spice blending, and then enjoy the meal you've prepared. Every piece you create is yours to bring home.

Cultural Immersion and Wellness

Marrakech is a sensory delight; the call to prayer echoing over rooftops, the vibrant hues of spices piled high in the souks, the scent of orange blossoms and fresh mint, and the intricate textures of hand-carved plaster and woven textiles beneath your fingertips. Each day here awakens something new.

Each morning begins on our riad's rooftop terrace with mixed-movement; mobility stretch, Pilates, and yoga—as the city stirs to life below. Afternoon meditations before dinner offer moments of reflection and calm. All activities are optional, allowing you to craft the retreat experience that suits you best.

Our outings include a guided historic tour through the ancient Medina and a full day exploring the modern district, where we'll visit the stunning Les Jardins Majorelle, the Berber Museum, and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum. A stop at a remarkable vintage store rounds out the day—this special shop sources art, artifacts, and jewelry and even supplies pieces to museums. Back in the Medina, a traditional herb and medicine shop introduces you to the scents, oils, and lotions of Moroccan wellness traditions. Evenings bring dining experiences in stunning historic palaces, while our home base—a gorgeous riad in a quiet, prestigious neighborhood—offers a pool, gardens, a hammam spa, terraces, and its own restaurant-cafe for relaxation between adventures. One full free day invites you to explore, indulge, or simply rest.

Optional Add-Ons

Enhance your retreat with experiences tailored to your interests. Our riad has a hammam spa on-site, and Marrakech is renowned for its traditional bathhouses; indulgent experiences of steam, scrubs, massage, and self-care.
