At YCC, we value:

All Abilities, All Bodies, All Ages

YCC is a teaching center that values ongoing learning and offers workshops, teacher training, and continuing education utilizing deeply knowledgeable instructors from near and far to deepen students’ understanding and practice of yoga, Pilates, meditation, and qigong.

YCC recognizes the diversity in students’ bodies, abilities, anडे experiences. We adapt practice to meet the needs of all students, making yoga, Pilates, meditation, and qigong accessible, welcoming, and inclusive for everyone.

YCC cultivates a space where students feel supported, respected, and encouraged. This environment is essential for fostering a sense of community and belonging, which enhances the overall experience of the practices.

We offer:

Quality expertise – YCC is the space of mind-body-spirit learning and self-discovery for everyone. We nurture the space for students to have agency over their own experience and practice.

Home/space/love – YCC is an accepting community that is safe, friendly, kind, and inclusive where students can be themselves.

Happiness/joy – YCC is a place to feel, share, and exchange joy. We often laugh out loud.

Gratitude/satisfaction – As teachers, staff, and students at YCC, we have a sense of gratitude and authentic fulfillment as we devote our energy to our practice.

Calm/serenity – We are a healing retreat for serenity, calm, and peacefulness.

YCC has a commitment to service and the support of our physically proximal community as well as our intellectual and spiritual community near and far. We strive to uplift others by offering service in any and all possible ways.

YCC honors the tradition of yoga and shares the ancient practice with deep philosophical roots. Instructors play a crucial role in transmitting this knowledge, helping students understand not just the physical aspects of yoga, but also its spiritual and philosophical dimensions.

We honor the classical principles of Pilates while integrating contemporary biomechanical understanding. Our instructors maintain Joseph Pilates' original concepts, guiding students toward improved strength, flexibility, and a deeper mind-body connection.

As the saying goes, “paths are many, truth is one.”

At the Yoga Center of Columbia, we honor the many and varied paths unique individuals take on the way to self-discovery. We utilize the tenets of yoga, the eight-limbed path as laid out by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras to guide us to our highest expression of humanity.
