Beyond the Sutras

A Deep Dive into Yoga Philosophy

You already know that yoga has profound potential to transform your life for the better. Perhaps you've had a glimpse of yoga's benefits, like a sense of contentment, stress reduction, or increased flexibility and balance in your body-mind-heart. We are switching up the Immersion format this year to make it more accessible for those interested in learning more. We promise this will be thought-provoking and compelling.

This online experience is designed to take your understanding to the next level and shift your awareness regarding the deeper concepts of yoga. Class meets weekly online, Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00 pm for 14 weeks beginning Feb 11. Class time will be devoted to a meditation and/or pranayama practice, some lecture on the weekly topic, and discussion. It will be interactive and fun. Your co-leaders, Kelly Fisher and Michael Levin have a combined four decades of experience in yoga teaching and practice.

Registration is now open for the 2026 Beyond the Sutras Yoga Immersion.

Michael Levin, a proud graduate of YCC’s 300-hour training, has practiced yoga and meditation for more than 20 years and has been teaching yoga and the underlying philosophies in both yoga studios and colleges and at festivals for over a decade.  His asana classes are known for their playful and irreverent fun, but his true passion lies in bringing the deeper meditative, spiritual, and philosophical teachings and practices of yoga to Western students in a way that is understandable, engaging, and actionable - particularly the non-dual Tantric traditions. Michael recently received his Master’s degree in India Studies with a concentration on non-dual philosophies from the O.P. Jindal Global University in Haryana, India, and is currently enrolled in the Kripalu Center’s 1000-hour teacher training program. A lifelong musician, Michael brings his love of music to the bhakti practice of kirtan as leader of the band Jam Dass. He has performed in various venues and yoga studios, including YCC, has toured throughout India, and is currently working on the band's second album.
