Yin Yoga is a complementary practice to the more active, postural styles of yoga.
The main intention of Yin Yoga is to stimulate, strengthen and revive connective tissues (joints and fascia) of the body by relaxing the muscles to create a sensation in the target area of the body. This is done by coming to your functional edge of a posture and then letting time and gravity do the work.
This practice also promotes a greater energetic prana flow and hydration throughout the body by releasing blockages. Meditatively, it quiets the mind through stillness and receptivity. It is a simple practice, but not always easy.
Some yoga experience required - drop-In’s welcome.
