Master Storyteller and Scholar of Sanskrit and Yoga Philosophy, Presents:
The Bhagavad GIta
The Celestial Song and the Time of Reckoning
The Bhagavad Gita is the most important and influential text in the history of yoga philosophy. Its influence has touched practically every school of interpretation and practice and its messages remain trenchant, powerful, and compelling to our modern age. When we view the Gita more closely within its context as a part of the great epic Mahabharata, its teaching is at once more subtle and even more practical. After all, we are on a battlefield poised for war when the text commences and just why we are here and what follows frames the Gita in ways that are rarely considered. Historical commentaries take notice and our seminar will carefully situate the seminal text within its greater context and setting. We will study the Gita for its essential spirituality and with care for its sublime understanding but we will also consider for the practical questions it raises about life and death, trust and betrayal, war and peace.
No previous experience is required and none expected. Bring an open mind and a willing heart. This is going to be deep, rich, and accessible learning.
