(October 2 - November 6, 2017 Mondays, 11:15am - 12:45pm) Mindful Yoga will combine yoga asanas (postures) with different types of mindfulness practices and meditations. It can help you start up a new meditation practice, or help to deepen the one you already have.
Each class will begin with a grounding asana practice to help you become more fully aware of your whole body. Then students will be led through a body scan, and a mindfulness practice. Next, students will practice a series of flowing postures; connecting breath and movement. This will be followed by a breath awareness meditation.
The last portion of the class will change from week to week. New yoga postures will be introduced, and a different meditation will be taught each time so that students can try a variety of practices. The final week will include a Yoga Nidra practice.
