In this the first of four weekends of continuing education for yoga teachers and yoga therapists, we’ll be guiding you in honing yoga teaching skills, especially as related to improving observing and assessing student issues or needs. To assist in sharpening your analytical skills we will be working with a variety of tools including case studies, live assessments, effective sequencing, and practice teaching. Click for details.
Wednesdays, 1:00pm - 2:00pm
(Oct. 3 - Dec. 19; No classes on Oct. 24 and Nov. 21) This free 60 minute gentle seated yoga class is specifically designed for Care Partners. The term “Care Partner” includes both the caregiver and the person with dementia. During your time together, you both have an opportunity to learn breathing techniques to reduce stress, move through gentle seated stretches and practice instructor guided meditation for an overall improved well-being.
(Thursdays, October 4 - November 8)
This 6-week mini-session is designed to Improve postural problems, Increase core strength, prevent injury, create strong muscles, refine coordination and balance through body awareness, and build functional strength and endurance. These classes cover the basic mat work series of this whole body workout system created by Joseph Pilates. For beginners, no Pilates experience necessary. Missed Pilates classes can be made up in any other class or our regular or mini-session schedule.
[Thursdays: October 4 - November 29 (No Class On Thanksgiving 11/22)] Experienced practitioners from the Still Water Mindfulness Practice Center Community will lead an exploration of mindfulness and meditation as taught in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh. (Fridays, Oct. 5 - Nov. 9) For infants 6 weeks until almost crawling, accompanied by an adult.
Utilizing connective exercises (including asana, infant massage, song and meditation) these playful classes will provide you and your baby with an opportunity to build strength & increase flexibility in addition to nurturing intimacy in these important early developmental months.

Is there an exercise ball hiding in your closet? Bring your ball and learn how to use it effectively and safely. By stabilizing yourself on the wobbly ball, you will learn exercises that challenge your core to new levels. Strengthen your back, abdomen and hip muscles. Sculpt your legs, shoulders and arms.
