During this Sunday Satsang, we’ll discuss how attuning with our vital life force (prana) can improve our physical, mental, and spiritual health. Yoga is more than just flexibility or strength in postures; it is the management of prana. It moves in different ways in specific regions in the body, regulating and controlling functions such as digestion, respiration, nerve impulses and perception.
Understanding the vayus (winds) of prana and the systems they govern can help lead us to a balanced state of body, mind and spirit. When a vayu is out of balance, that system of the body tends to also be imbalanced. When they’re functioning harmoniously, they assure the health and vitality of the body and mind.
The bandhas are "locks" in the physical body that bind and redirect pranic energy. Bandhas enable you to block and direct the flow of pranic energy in certain ways to change the energy pattern in the body and can be used to effect the prana vayus.
Join us and learn how becoming more attentive to prana and enhancing and directing its flow through the practices of hatha yoga and the bandhas can invigorate the body and mind, develop an expanded inner awareness, and open the door to higher states of consciousness. We will end with a guided relaxation to balance the vayus.
No yoga experience is required. This workshop does not include any asana.
