Do you or anyone you know struggle with mild to moderate depression, seasonal or otherwise?
According to the World Health Organization, 350 million people worldwide suffer from depression, a leading cause of disability. Depression is characterized by feelings of overwhelming sadness or grief that don’t go away within a few days. It can cause loss of interest in doing things that previously brought pleasure, and can be accompanied by emotional and physical symptoms.
The good news is that lifestyle practices and changes may help ease many of depression’s symptoms. Based on emerging evidence-based research supporting what we know as yoga students -- that certain yoga asana (poses), pranayama (breath practices), and meditation practices may be helpful complementary treatments for depression -- we will explore such supportive practices including asana, pranayama, and guided meditation through iRest® yoga nidra meditation.
This workshop will be open to everyone.
