Sorry, this workshop has been cancelled.
Origami is the Japanese art of paper folding. A flat piece of paper is transformed to another beautiful form through folding and unfolding the paper.
Often in origami the paper is folded just to unfold it to prepare for the next fold. A yoga practice is like origami in that we often fold or move through one pose to prepare us for the next. Like our yoga practice, mindfully folding the paper and folding our bodies takes time and attention and is as much of the process as the form that it creates.
In this all levels workshop you will explore the folding and unfolding of your body and its transformational qualities through a slow flow followed by a short meditation to prepare for the crafting part of the practice.
Anne will walk you through the steps to create your own origami crane. In Japanese folklore, the crane is believed to live for 1,000 years so it is regarded as a symbol of longevity, good fortune, happiness and peace. You will leave with one for you and one to pass on to someone else with blessings of peace and happiness.
For all levels. Materials will be provided.
