This dance class will start your weekend with joy. Karen, a professional dancer will lead an improvisational belly dance based class designed to get your body feeling great and your heart soaring. Class will include warm up, dancing across the floor, improvisational groove and follow, a whole lot of cheering each other on, and a relaxing stretch at the end. [Thursdays: April 13 - June 1] Experienced practitioners from the Still Water Mindfulness Practice Center Community will lead an exploration of mindfulness and meditation as taught in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh. We will talk about our experiences with mindfulness and share ideas to help you establish a meditation practice. Mindfulness is a gift you can give to yourself to calm your mind, lighten your heart and to transform your suffering. We will share "how to" approaches to sitting meditation, walking meditation and other practices that can be incorporated into your daily life. No prior meditation experience is needed.
Is there an exercise ball hiding in your closet? Bring your ball and learn how to use it effectively and safely. By stabilizing yourself on the wobbly ball, you will learn exercises that challenge your core to new levels. Strengthen your back, abdomen and hip muscles. Sculpt your legs, shoulders and arms. Learn how to incorporate a ball into a short cardio routine. Finally use the support of the ball to stretch, lengthen and relax. Have a ball with us, so you can use your ball at home!
[April 23, May 7, May 14, May 21] This mini-session explores how yoga can help relax and restore the body, calm the mind, and lift our spirits. Classes will include breathing exercises, gentle yoga postures, and guided relaxation to enhance fertility by increasing blood flow to the pelvis, nourishing the reproductive organs, and reducing stress and anxiety. Discussion on nutrition and fertility friendly exercise will also be included. Yogic philosophy, a positive perspective, and a nurturing community help students find peace in their own fertility journey, and call home the family they were meant to have. Classes are based on Tracy’s study of yoga, fertility, and the female body, her personal yoga practice, and her own challenges with fertility.
